Vienna Coffee Festival 2026: Record Edition Draws Over 10,000 Visitors
The 12th Vienna Coffee Festival delivered an impressive result at Vienna’s Marx Halle: more than 10,000 visitors, a record 110 exhibitors, and reigning World Barista Champion Jack Simpson as star guest made the first edition under new organizer Lefor & Oberbauer a resounding success.
For the first time, visitors could collect so-called Actionpoints at the booths, adding a playful way to dive deeper into the program. The experience was supported by the new VCF App, which brought together the hall map, timetable, exhibitor profiles, and Actionpoints collection in one digital place for the first time.
International flair was provided by Australia’s Jack Simpson, who came to Vienna at the invitation of FAEMA and appeared both on the Open Stage and directly behind the espresso machine. Just how fast Vienna’s coffee scene has evolved was illustrated by Cimbali Austria CEO Günther Stölner: twelve years ago, Vienna had just three or four specialty coffee shops — today there are around 45. Alongside international brands, numerous Viennese roasteries showcased their diversity, accompanied by workshop formats such as Morning Yoga Flow or a fermented Geisha coffee served both brewed and as beer.
Best100 Coffee Shops Austria was also part of the program: the platform showcased, on the Open Stage, coffee shops that shape the scene through quality and atmosphere. For the first time, the special award „Best100 – The Beloved Bean“ was presented, going to the coffee shop that received the most votes in the public voting.
The festival concluded on Sunday with the SCA national championship titles: Julian Tomala won the title in the Latte Art category, while Madalin Truica will represent Austria as national Barista champion at the 2027 World Championship in Tokyo.
The date for the 13th Vienna Coffee Festival is already set: September 10–12, 2027, once again at Vienna’s Marx Halle.
