Hirams Coffee: Five Perspectives on Origin and Flavour
Coffee is never defined by origin alone. Variety, altitude, processing and roasting all shape what ultimately appears in the cup. At the Vienna Coffee Festival, Drinkera will present Hirams Coffee: a collection roasted in Slovakia that invites visitors to explore these differences across four single-origin arabicas and one espresso blend.
The selection begins in Minas Gerais, Brazil, with Brasil Santos 3. Naturally processed Bourbon, Catuai and Mundo Novo beans create a familiar, balanced profile of nuts, cocoa and chocolate.
Costa Rica Palmichal Los Vindas Honey, grown at 1,450 metres in the Los Santos region, offers a brighter expression. Its Caturra and Catuai beans are processed using the pulped-natural method, bringing together notes of mandarin, peach and chocolate.
From Constanza comes Dominican Republic Ebano Verde AA, a washed coffee with a smooth profile of cocoa, chocolate and caramel. Uganda Bulambuli Natural 2, grown around Mount Elgon and harvested by hand, moves in a fruitier direction, combining raspberry with caramel and milk chocolate.
For those who prefer a fuller and more traditional espresso profile, Planeta Espresso Blend combines 80% arabica with 20% robusta from Brazil and Uganda. Its notes of caramel, dark chocolate and nuts make it particularly suitable for espresso, automatic coffee machines and milk-based drinks.
The Hirams philosophy is rooted in long-term commercial relationships and the idea that good coffee should create value for everyone involved; from the people who grow it to the businesses and guests who serve and enjoy it.
Rather than searching for a single “best” coffee, the Hirams collection encourages comparison: clean and chocolate-forward or bright and fruity, single origin or carefully constructed blend.
